Adventures at Dogwood Canyon
We are an adventurous family and our boys are full of energy. This has made the Table Rock and Branson area a perfect vacation spot for us. One of our favorite activities to do with our kids while we are in the area, is Dogwood Canyon. It’s very affordable for a day of family fun.
Last spring we took the kids to Dogwood Canyon and we rented bikes. The older boys were five and three years old and got bikes and helmets perfect for their size. My husband joined the fun and rented a bike too. My youngest Charlie was 9 months and still mostly riding in the stroller so I brought our stroller to the park and it was awesome.
We took the bike trails and ventured through the park area. My wild man, Noah took his bike through streams that crossed some of the walking paths and he LOVED it! We stopped and had a little snack near one of the fishing streams and watched the fly fishers. We also stopped at the chapel that is often used there for weddings. Talk about a perfect day! It was one of those that you wish you could freeze and do over and over again. We had just come off winter so it felt amazing to be back outside and enjoying the spring air.
When we were done riding bikes we took the kids in the tree house that is located toward the front of the park. They thought it was pretty cool and loved walking over the suspension bridge. There is also a fun kids museum at Dogwood Canyon that showcases different local fish, reptiles and the history of the area. The most fun was the bear cave that the kids could crawl through!
We ended the day with lunch by the water fall and a glass of wine for all our hard parenting work! LOL! Traveling with kids is hard, but when you find the right activities, it’s fun for everyone and this excursion tops the list!
